Is this the best fantasy writing forum you have found? Do you know any others that are just as good or better?

Do you have any great places that you find helpful?

I used to have a gazillion sites, forums and blogs saved in my faves until my laptop suffered a fatal meltdown lol. So I'd appreciate any help on day one with the new LT :)

Just for anyone who hasnt tried it, I thought i would share one note... Love it :) So great for keeping all your info organised

What, you have to ask after a look around this place?
It could be better... no I take that back.

In all seriousness, there are no better sites than this one - I've looked at quite a few and amongst many things, the one that sets this one apart, is the sheer decentness of the people on it - rudeness, harrassing and discrimination is not allowed. And I've not seen a site with the sheer volume of threads and discussions anywhere. This is the place. Honestly.

Of course we're the best!!

Actually, we're not really a fantasy writing site, the main thrust of the whole site was originally books and reviews etc, but we writers are steadily taking over (today the Chrons, tomorrow the World....!!)

I've rarely ventured anywhere else to gain a fair comparison, but I think we pretty much cover all the bases. The only way another site would have a real advantage over us is in allowing Critiques of whole chapters etc, as we limit ours to 1500 words.

There will always be a question of taste; sauce for the goose might not always suit the swan.

And this is not really set up as a writing forum; it is a reading/watching/playing forum which just happens to have a number of writers -- of friendly, helpful writers -- among its inhabitants. Still, there is no noticeable cliquishness ("I'll vote for your story if you vote for mine"ishness) and a wide range of skills, and experience (yes, and some nonsense and silliness, and you'll have to do the sorting yourself) exchanged, along with encouragement and kicks in the fundament for when the lack of confidence cuts in.

So no, I don't know anywhere I could say was better than here, for me, and suspect that a lot of the residents feel like this.

Lol. A baseball bat might not technically be a weapon but that doesn't mean it can't be the best at smashing heads in a room full of pillows...

I have done my time in the 'proper' writing communities and I can do without the hioghty toighty crowd. My goal isn't to post my whole work online for people to gush over or tear apart. I am quite happy to just have a places where I can share ideas and have a laugh :)

Top of my list! Nice to meet you all :)
