:confused:I don't know where else to put this thread.

I am Looking for books by Stephen King, not titles of the books I know those, the actual books.

You can read the thing below or just know that I am looking for really, really, really, cheap or even free copies of: Salem's Lot, Cujo, IT, From a Buick 8, Christine, The Shining, The Stand, Delores Claiborne, and The Tommyknockers. And well any other Stephen King book I can get my hands on EXCEPT Carrie (because I already have a copy of Carrie.

the only one I have actually read is Carrie. But that is only because I can't afford to buy books. I found Carrie at a flea market for a quarter and always wanted to read a Stephen King book, seeing as how he is my dad's like second or third cousin (or maybe farther his great-grandfather is my great-great-grandfather's brother, at least that is what I gathered from the rest of my dad's family.), so i decided to get it. I loved it. I tried to read 'The Green Mile', 'A Buick 8', 'It', 'Dreamcatcher', 'Just After Sunset' and a few others last year during school (I love the school library) but due to tests I could not finish them.

my mom has been telling me to read 'Salem's Lot', 'The Shining', 'Cujo', 'Christine', & 'The Stand'.

But she told me not to read 'The Tommyknockers', she said that it is a like (pobably exaggerating a little) 5000 page book that got made into a 4 hour "movie series thing"(her exact words.) So now I definitely want to read 'The Tommyknockers'.

I think it's a universal fact that anywhere you see second hand books being sold for pittance, or given away, there will be a Stephen King book in there. He shouldn't be too hard to track down in inexpensive places. I have a first addition paperback version of The Shining that I got for 30p.

But yes, definitely read his books. Especially The Shining.

Can you not borrow them from a library? Or you could buy most titles for less than £2-£3 on Play.com postage free.

Try Cell , The Stand , The Running Man , The Green Mile and Eyes of the Dragon and Rose Madder. (my 6 favourite King novels) ; or try some of his anthologies like Four Past Midnight. The Tommyknockers is ok , not great.

King tends to veer between prison/love/horror/sci-fi stories , sometimes a mixture if several; don't expect them all to be horror because they're not. Let us know which genre you prefer and we can be more specific in our reccomendations for you.

Oh,and leave The Dark Tower series until you've read all the King novels you're going to - you'll appreciate all the more.

See if there is a Half-Priced Books near you. They usually have some King books for a dollar or less.

You should be able to find a ton of King books at any thrift store that has books, for next to nothing. I'm talking like a buck or two, or even less.

That's the great thing about being into King - lot's of people read him and discard the books. You should also be able to find them at yard sales and such.

Btw , if you see a stack of King novels going cheap in a shop called 'Needful Things', steer well clear of it!

Have you tried eBay? They often have "lots" of books by particular authors, which means you can get a big boxful at one time. It's how I wound up replenishing some of my collections.
