I was just going to post that I was disappointed this had been cancelled, when I find that it seems to be back on for release, just further out than before.

This one has me intrigued - I love the Pixar movies, they tell a good tale, with engaging characters, and usually quite a bit of emotional involvement, and they always focused on character and emotion more than the fact that they make AMAZING 3D - in other words they used technology to tell good stories, not just technology to make you go "ooh look what cool technology they used."

I also love the short story by PKD.

The combination of these does completely baffle me. I'm not entirely sure how you make a whole story out of the short, unless you go off on some totally long tangent that is not related to the original. Normally, this would frighten me, but like I say, I like Pixar, so, maybe they will find a way to make it work.

I still think Disney / Pixar making anything to do with a PKD work is pretty bizarre. Next up, the PKD rides at Disney, complete with Abe Lincoln simulcra, fnools, wubs and more.

PKD animation doesnt work, the story could have worked a live action film if it was less than 2 hours. The story is interesting enough that you can pace it out for 1 h 30 mins.

I'm interested in the statement "PKD animation doesn't work" as this implies there has been some PKD animation in the past, and I don't recall seeing any and might be missing out.

I wouldn't count A Scanner Darkly as animation since it was filmed live action then drawn over and processed, very different from something that is drawn or rendered from scratch. Even if you count Scanner, that's only one movie and not enough to draw a conclusion from surely?

So I remain interested as to how King Of The Elves will work out!
