Hey everyone. I'm new to this site and I've been searching for a book for ages.
A long, long time ago I read a series (to my shame, I can't even remember if it were 2 or 3 books. Definitely more than one. I think) and I can't find it anywhere.
The most annoying part is that I remember a lot that happened in the book.
A young woman is a sister somewhere in the countryside, her father dies and leaves her all his money, much to her brother's disdain. She travels to a big city and starts up a business. Something with a fruit-garden and means of transport. A business man doesn't like this and gets her convicted for some reason. She has to become a sister again in a brothel, a 'free whore' for people who can't pay for it.
She gets freed by someone and she travels to another country, I believe it was a magical one. She has to undergo a test in a completely dark room. Here she has to conquer the fear of darkness, loneliness and death.
And from this point it just gets blurry, I don't remember a lot after this.
I do know that on the back of the first book the magical kingdom (or something like that) was described, but that it didn't appear in the first book.
I really hope someone can help me out!
Rinske.
