I am suprised that no one has talked about this yet, maybe I have just missed the thread.
The second book in the "Land fit For Heroes" trilogy by Richard Morgan is great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I seeem to be going against the grain in that I thoutht the first one was better than this, but maybe it's just middle book syndrome that I am suffering from.
Full of ultraviolence, serious political comment, and questions about the nature of sexuality , It is a challenging read. For all this though, the plot is engaging, the characters have depth and I cant wait for the third part - whenever that may arrive.
Some may wish that Richard Morgan will return to the noir science fiction that he made his name with, I am, however glad that he is trying to do something different. The quality of his writing, and his hatred of the despicable world we live in resonates with me and I dont care what genre he writes in as long as he keeps on shouting.
