This is something I've been thinking of for a while and I figure Chronites are just the people to create a worthy itinerary.

I've enjoyed what little traveling I've been lucky enough to do over the years and there are plenty of natural, historical or other places that I've either really enjoyed visiting or that are high on the bucket list...

Like the Aurora Borealis or Australis, we missed the Northern Lights by one night but will try again eventually.

But one thing I really enjoy is seeing (and discussing) things people have created, either modern or historical, those things that are just a really cool piece of thought or engineering.

So I'm starting a thread to ask a few questions;

Given the chance to go on an Engineering World Tour, would you? Not just yay a free ticket, would it be something you think you'd enjoy?

And most importantly what stops would you add to the tour? It doesn't have to be huge or complicated, though they work too, it could just as easily be a visit to a dusty little lab to have someone explain why E=MC2 uses the speed of light and not another suitably large number (yes, that's also on my tour).

There are plenty of stops I'd like to make but I'll add just the one for now.

The Falkirk Wheel, some posters will probably be a lot more familiar with this than me but it just seems to be everything I like about engineering done right.

It serves a purpose, it enhances the area and yet the engineering is so good that the basic ideas are actually quite simple and help make it suprisingly efficient. It's artwork with a day job!

Anyway feel free to post suggested stops, say "I've been there" or otherwise help the thread along in whatever direction it wants to ramble :).
