Physical attribute can be transfered with brands

I can only remember a few detail, as this was ~12 years ago.

Attributes such as strength, speed, vision, beauty, etc. could be transfered from one person to another using magical branding.

I remember that a castle or a castle wall was shattered by some guys voice.

There also was a wizard who tried to create a "Green Lady" (I think?) In order to save the world but he couldn't control her and she runs off.

Also, a group of guys all made a circle of brands, so that one of them could use the strength of all, and if he died then the next guy would get all of the strength, I think they called it a serpent, and they did this to stop the main antagonist.

As you can see, my memory is not great, but hey, somebody might recognize the description. =/
