I read the book about 8 or 9 years ago, the plot was somewhat similar to ender's game but without aliens or space. The setting was a post war world where everyone is living in domes to protect themselves from radiation. There's one known island that is radiation free and the remaining countries decide to have a virtual war game to decide who gets the island. The main character is a 12-14 (roughly) year old prodigy who gets to play the virtual war game for his country and wins. There also was a sequel where he is living on the island and another boy comes and lives on the island and eventually starts going wild and giving him trouble. I think the main character's name is Corben or something similar, but I'm not too sure about that.
