Who here has read Live Free or Die by John Ringo? I'm almost done with it, and it has been very entertaining, despite that I don't think it matches up to his Aldenata series (central storyline).
When I read the cover I expected it to be another military SF book with bloody battles and human plight. as I have grown so used to reading from Ringo. It's not, but it's still a good read. Oddly enough when I first picked up this book I thought it had been written before the Aldenata series (central storyline) because some of the ideas seem to be not as well thought out, especially the enemy. Very little is really discussed about them. We get the basic idea, but no real interactions except for the occassional battle between Humanity and the enemy (yet).
I do love the Star Wars references though. Once they discussed Troy I knew it had something to do with the Death Star.
What did you guys think?
