Hi everyone,

I've just finished Feast For Crows, and I think I missed two things entirely – presumably reading it too fast or late at night!

Can anyone tell me, as long as you’re meant to know by the end of FFC and NOT if I find out in subsequent books:

· Did anyone else read who poisoned Joffrey at his wedding? Something to do with a hairnet?

· What happened when Samwell and Gilly met a Wight called Coldhands and what, rode around with him? I thought they were going north but Coldhands didn’t kill them or whatever and somehow got them through the wall?

· So are the Wights just trying to make friends or…??? Do you find this out in later books?

· Who was the girl who tried to start a rebellion against her father the Prince of Dorne but was betrayed and locked in her father’s castle? Was she a Stark before? That whole plotline came out of nowhere but implied significance which I didn’t get

Thanks in advance!

1. Plot by Little Finger, he set things up so The Queen of Thorns used poison that Sansa unwittingly brought to the feast in her hairnet on Joffery.

2. Read ADWD.

3. Friends in a "I'm going to kill you" sort of way.

4. She is, as you said, the Prince of Dorne's daughter. Not a Stark.

5. Welcome to the boards.

Edit: you may want to go back and reread some of the later Sansa/Littlefinger chapters as there is lots of revealing and future plotting going on.

Wecome to the board :)

Grunkins, where in Massachusetts are you? Im there as well.

As for the OP

Spoilers below

There has been speculation going into aDWD that Coldhands is Benjin Stark

Sansa notices (much after the wedding) that the re is a "bead" missing from her hairnet. The Hairnet itself was given to her by Ser Dontos. I personally never liked this elaborate scheme, as I see no reason that Lady Olena couldn't have just brought the poison with her, rather than have the whole elaborate plan that was used. It made for better reading, but it was one of the few things in the series that didn't make sense to me as far as logic is concerned.

Benjen seems like the obvious choice but didn't someone say he's (coldhands) been dead a long time? Perhaps one of the rangers from the AGOT prologue is coldhands??

Plymouth. Home to Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower, and a Big Creepy Sarcophagus filled with pilgrim bones. You?

And, I agree, that whole plot is a little elaborate even by Littlefinger standards. Maybe Littlefinger was granting Sansa some karmic justice by giving her a hand in her tormentor's death. Or maybe Martin was.

I'm in the Berkshires, in the extreme western part of the state. I envy you being near the water :) We were in Salem, Rockport, etc. this summer and it is just beautiful out there.

Sansa's role was completely passive. She was given the hairnet by Dontos, had no idea that it contained poison, and had nothing to do with the poison being used. I think GRRM was just being clever.

The Berkshires are great but we Eastern Massachusetts types try not to go west of 91. We're afraid of bobcats.

It's the deer you have to be afraid of :D

I don't think bobcats hunt people. It's the badgers that you have to avoid.

Do you suppose that the whole hairnet thing could have been to make Sansa the patsy, just in case. Actually, isn't she one of the prime suspects anyway, and would have been even more so (??) if Tyrion had decided to "implicate" her . The effect of suspicion of Sansa is to make her even more beholden to Littlefinger, right? Oh gosh, this gets complicated.

That's a really good point. Planning her escape ensures that people will be suspicious of her, and if she was caught she'd have the hairnet on as proof of their suspicions.

You and GRRM are brilliant
