Something reminded me of this bit that I read long ago, and I couldn't remember whether it was in Dead Poets Society, or The World According to Garp, or Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. One would not, on the surface, think to confuse the three of those, but I have a fuzzy memory and they do have a lot in common, at least to me. Anyway, I tried four or five Google combinations before coming up with the answer, and it was indeed in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

This is about how writer's block can stem from having too much to say, rather than too little, and an exercise in what to do about that. I've always found it brilliant, even when I can't recall where it came from.
