hey i got the first 4 of these books on my kindle as a package deal and then amazon let me know there was a 5th so ive bought that aswell. now theve let me know that there is another out. its a part 2, of the dance with dragons, after the feast. but its saying on amason this new book is number 5 but i already have 5 of these books. is amazon just classing it as still number 5 as it is technically the 5th one just the 2nd part. im wanting to buy it asap so i dont get confused so if someone can tell me soon it would be much appreciated. and if anyone needs help with any stephen king books id be happy to help x

A Dance with Dragons is the 5th book. Not sure what "other" 5th book there would be.

Here are the books of ASoIaF in order:
A Game of Thrones
A Clash of Kings
A Storm of Swords
A Feast for Crows
A Dance with Dragons

The paperbacks of Dance With Dragons is split into two books, After The Feast being the subtitle of the second part. Storm of Swords is also split into two parts for the paperback.

I don't know how this works with the kindle, I suppose they do a copy that is the same as the hardback and one that is the same as the paperback. So the order could get confusing.

Allanam, Tywin has listed the correct reading order above, but as Rufio says, both A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons were split into two (in the UK at least).

So, the amended order would be:

1. A Game of Thrones
2. A Clash of Kings
3a. A Storm of Swords (Part 1: Steel and Snow)
3b. A Storm of Swords (Part 2: Blood and Gold)
4. A Feast for Crows
5a. A Dance with Dragons (Part 1: Dreams and Dust)
5b. A Dance with Dragons (Part 2: After the Feast)

However, just to confuse the issue further, A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons ARE both available as single books. It depends whether you bought the Kindle version of the Hardback (one release) or the paperbacks (two releases). Probably best if you check your Amazon orders to see exactly what you purchased. Hope this clears things up. :)

I bought a paperback American edition of A Storm of Swords and a hardcover of A Dance with Dragons and each were released as one. The bookstores here don't have any left so I have to go over a bigger city to purchase the hardcover of the fifth book. For those who is waiting for the paperback version of the A Dance with Dragons, it will be available this July (or is it June?), methinks. :)

Sounds like you already have the fifth book in hardback, A Dance with Dragons? You should save yourself a trip and read the one you purchased already. ;)
