Only the cold...(possible ADWD SPOILERS)

This may have been discussed already but after my second reading of ADWD this has been bothering me

The last sentence from jon's last chapter in ADWD reads "He never felt the fourth knife, only the cold..."

Now that could be him losing conciousness/dying....but I'm starting to think that the Others,or some wights(corpses in th ice cells maybe?),are about to attack the wall. everytime they show up GGRM makes sure we know how cold it is. From the prologue of AGOT, when the wight(I wanna say othor...but to lazy to look it up) attacked the joer mormont, the attack at the fist, the attack at crasters....the first thing to be mentioned is always the cold.

And leaving us hanging with the "..." I may be reading way to much into this but I think GRRM is hinting something other than the outcome of jons situation

I like this thought. I've pointed out that it's very possible for Jon to get stabbed *and* survive his wounds because Tyrion survives much worse injuries at the end of just about every one of his chapters. So maybe Jon isn't being dealt a death blow but simply losing consciousness (the same way Tyrion does at the end of chapter) and feeling the cold of an Others attack right before he goes to sleep. Excellent thought!

Last paragraph reads "jon fell to is knees. He found the daggers hilt and wrenched it free. In the cold NIGHT air the wound was smoking."Ghost" he he whispered. Pain washed over him...."

Definately night time.

Something else I just realized is it mentions jons fingers had grown stiff and clumsy....I've seen the theory of poison tossed around in a thread or two, but maybe it was cause of the cold....with the excitement caused by wun wun killing ser patrek, between stress and adrenaline, he never noticed how cold it was till his hands started to go numb...
