Looking for a fantasy novel of magical land where a boy has no magical abilities

I am looking for a fantasy novel which I read years ago but don't remember the title, author or character names. It's about a land of magic where everyone has some kind of magical ability except for this young boy and he's considered a misfit because he has no magical ability. At the end of the book it's discovered that his ability is that no magic can touch him.
