Many years ago I read a 2 book series about a space traveler marroned on a planet covered with ice. The inhabitants were cat-like with claws that evolved to runners like ice skate runners. The had a flap of skin that acted as a sail when they raised their arms called "dan". They traveled on sailing ships on runners. I'd like to read the books again and find if there was a third one or more. Anyone know of these books?
