A What-if Game

Okay - I have a silly little game I like to play. Granted, it's not much of a game as it is an exercise in imagination:

What if you you could "merge" another literary world with GRRM's world in ASOIAF? Which world would you choose and why?

An example of this would be:

I'd like to see Steven Erikson's Malazan world and GRRM's merge for the sole purpose of seeing Annomander Rake tear the entire Frey stronghold asunder. And then Annomander and the Greatjon go out drinking afterwards to celebrate.

you could probably do with expanding this to include other worlds besides merging with GRRM, but here's my tuppence worth

Dune.
Danaerys' dragons vs Muadib's worms, the weirding modules vs melissandre's shadows and the fremen kicking seven shades out of the dothraki or anyone else for that matter

possibly even the mountain vs feyd harkonnen - that'd be good too..

Excellent question! And any time there are Frey's slayed my ears perk up!

After thinking for a bit I decided to drop Vlad Taltos from Steven Brust's Jhereg series into the middle of things.
I think he should have challenged Gregor Clegane and would have won with his wits and the help of his little buddy Loiosh (sp?). Then he could have caused all manner of chaos in the Red Keep (he would have been the one to poison Joffrey also) before moving on to take a contract that paid 10 gold per Frey head.
He would also be great at collecting information such as who Jon's father was, who killed Jon Arryn, who framed Tyrion, who slept with a relative etc etc.
Plus Loiosh would have great fun romping around with the dragons!

I'd love to merge Robin Hobb's world with GRRM's.

Chade and FitzChivalry could have a good time working with/against Littlefinger and Varys, and the Redship Raiders would definitely have some interesting battles against the Greyjoys. Not to mention, I'd like to see an altercation between Cersei and Kettricken.

Plus, Vimes would never have double-crossed Ned like Slynt. Not that Lord Vetenari would have let matters escalate that far... unless it served his purpose, of course.

This has suddenly become the 'how to destroy WoT' thread. In the spirit, merge it with Pern, but forget the dragons. HAH!
Can't really merge Pern with ASOIAS though, it sort of defeats the object.

I'd personally like to see Garth Nix's Abhorsen world merge with ASOIAF. Then Sabriel would have her work cut out for her putting down all the dead, and Jaime could have a mechanical golden hand that actually worked (as created in the last book when Lirael had her hand chopped off).
I'll be amazed if anyone else recognises what I'm talking about here to, btw.

Hmmm....the seventh vs. the unsullied...tough one for the bridgeburners.

It might just be worth it to see The Mountain the Walks go up against someone like Karsa Orlon...and get his ass whooped big time.

I belive that they are; I'm fairly sure I've read promos from one on the other's books...
