Hey everyone,

Im hoping someone can help me out here. Around 10 years ago I came by a really cool graphic novel that lately has been bugging me whenever I think about it and wish to fid it again. Hopefully someone here is knowledgeable enough.
Here goes nothing:

The cover was a close up of a man in a medieval-ish armor holding a sword up to his face. The pommel of the sword had a protective arc for the hand that was spiked. The details of the story are blurred to me, but its about an alien humanoid race in some space-age galaxy whose economy was soley based on mining huge marble-like blocks for civilizations from other planets. They would put to sleep the buyers with heavy food and wine, and would then use a substance that I believe was a neon blue color found in the core of their planet, which a single drop would raise the block and made easy to transport. However, one day before the buyers went to sleep, a block fell on the main character and they had to use the fluid as an emergency to save him. The buyers saw this and promptly came back to invade the planet to force them to give up the substance. I think the guy´s sister or lover got killed before they gave up the secret. I forget how it ends however.
I also remember a scene which I believe was a flashback to a ritual these people had where the son and father had to fight to the death when the kid came of age, and the main guy´s fight had lasted 3 days before he slayed his father.
Thats all i got, if someone would be so kind to help me i would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks for reading! :D

The artwork is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. But as a story, it didn't impress me much. Tons of deus ex machina devices and very emotionally flat. But the ideas, scope and particularly artwork is wicked!
