I have been on a rampage searching for this trilogy now for the last 12 hours. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
There is a trilogy that I read twice when I was younger. The story revolves around a hunter who somehow becomes entangled with a mage, who's name I can say starts with a V. The first book is about his time in that mages tower, being tortured, then I believe escaping and stumbling upon some old ruins. There he manages to accidentally travel back in time, to when magic was prevelant and powerful.
There he learns to wield magic, and becomes quite powerful. Then comes a magic war where magic becomes significantly less powerful. However, he manages to save large resevoirs of the powerful magic by storing it in massive pillars of gold, some of them on the moon, if I remember correctly. He lives for quite some time and ends up with like, 3 wives or some such nonsense.
Anyway, I cannot for the life of me remember any specific names despite having read this trilogy twice. These books may have gone out of print. However, if someone could provide me with information on this trilogy, I would be immensley appreciative.
Thanks in advance.
