I may have asked this 4 years ago, if I did please refer me and I apologise.

I am an great Fan of the anime Blood+...the one with the two Vampire sisters.

However the number of veiled references to the Rothschild Family make me wonder if there are any anti-semitic overtones to this series.

I see no mention of this in Wikipedia, but it is hard to ignore all the allusions

I suppose it depends on the nature of those veiled references and the reason the Rothschild family was selected (if it was: how veiled are these veiled references? could they refer to another family/organisation? how elusive are the intended meanings of those allusions?).

The allusions are quite specific and unmistakable to anyone who knows the history of the Rothschild family.

I suppose it could be just a Japanese author reading some European history and thinking the Rothschild family history would make a perfect framework for his story without realizing the anti-semitic overtones, or maybe I'm just being overly sensitive to the issue

Hey, Joan. I am new to this forum. I am wondering what made you post this? Are you a history person? I am just curious because I am also wondering about the same thing.

I've always thought it had some anti-semitic overtones, but not being a religious person myself, I think it just didn't make much difference to me. I enjoyed what I saw, I just didn't watch or read the whole thing.

What concerns me about it is that it's really such a beautiful story that I'd find it very disappointing if it was advocating such an ugly thing as anti-Semitism.

On further examination I think it might be more a commentary on anti-Semitism than anti-Semitic itself.
