Quite surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but the new, full trailer has started to be shown for series 7.

A lot of people will be delighted to see the old style Daleks back and the rest just seems to scream fun!

(Might also be worth mentioning that the BBC made a big deal earlier this week about a secret iconic star that had been signed to appear this year. It was revealed to be Richard E Grant the next day... whether he is huge and iconic is up to the individual, but the interesting thing is he has played the Doctor twice himself!)

So excited. And we will see more of Riversong, since she had a scene in the trailer. Looks very interesting, and funny.

"We are very cross with you,' said the big, badass robot. :D

Looks good, I hope the Dalek episode(s) are badass, they haven't really been that awesome these seasons.

Not since they overcame their nemesis...STAIRS.
That was a very bad decision...

Good or bad, that was definitely a step change for the Daleks.

:rolleyes::eek::)

They are there in the background.

The reports are that we are seeing Daleks from every era of Doctor Who

Hmm.

Mixed feelings. Like the daleks, but they've sometimes been a bit ropey in the new series. I'm glad to see they appear to be proper daleks instead of the teletubbies.

And no more bloody River Song! I don't mind a prolonged plot arc, but she's just irksome.

I remember Richard E. Grant in Scream of the... Shalka, was it? An online serial, it was, and quite enjoyable.

I find her irksome, too, but there is a glimpse of her in the trailer, so I'm afraid she'll turn up at some point. Possibly at several. So we're out of luck there.

Yeah, she's there (again). Oh well. Maybe she'll get killed by the daleks :D

So difficult to find an official DW thread where to drop in bits and pieces as I think this pleases some of the viewers a great deal.

BBC One's 2013 commissioning announcement confirms "the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special"...

Speculation about next year's Doctor Who 50th anniversary special isn't just rife, it's practically an Olympic event. Will past Doctors return? (Almost certainly). Will there be more than one special? (Two is the current front-running suggestion). Will it be a live episode? (Er, we hope not).

We do know that the Mark Gatiss-scripted Who docudrama, a dramatisation of the show's birth on the BBC, has been officially confirmed, and now in BBC One Controller Danny Cohen's 2013 commissioning statement comes reference to a single "Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special".

"Drama on BBC One takes another big leap in 2013 in the shape of some major event dramas, including The Village, Ripper Street, Luther, The White Queen and the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special. These shows will bring a rich range of tones and worlds to BBC One's fiction."
