Anyone interested in Fantasycon 2012?

Am currently looking at this as a possibility, but it's a busy month and not sure I can make it - even still, a decent guest list.

Am tempted to turn up just to taunt Joe Abercrombie from the shadows.

Bit late in the day but I'm finally sorting out hotel/travel for it. Not been to FCon before but always good to sit in the bar talking books and other nonsense whatever happens.

Kath and I are adding a couple of days either side to make a short holiday. Been a horrible year for me and my daughter decided I needed a break.

Well, it was another great fantasycon because of all the people there, but why do they insist on having two presentations before lunch, 10-12, and then five after lunch 1-6? You have to scurry about like a hamster to keep up. The air-con was again inadequate and the reading room was way too hot, which took a lot of the shine off it. Oh, yes, when the microphones packed up, you had to be in the first four rows to hear what was said down in the basement room. I think it's time for a new venue

Apart from the celebrities, I met The Judge, MGIR, Ian Thwates, Kissmequick, but missed SJAB (again!), Anne Lyle and any other chronites who were lurking. The goody bag was brilliant and I won a signed copy of Brent Weeks Night Angel Trilogy, special edition (extra chapters, writer's cut kind of thing) by asking the best question from the floor, after his GOH interview. What an astute MC he was...
