I posted this to Goodreads earlier today, but figured I would see if anyone here might be able to help.
It is really starting to bug me that I can't remember the author or title.
After inventing a teleportation device, a man and his family (son?) are pursued by people who want to steal it. I believe the device always worked on a spherical area, and that the title of the book starts with an 'S'. At one point someone escapes by using a handheld version of the device to teleport away part of the back of a man's head. It was an easy read, but entertaining. I would like to reread it
, and think my older son would also enjoy it. I read a newly released paperback of the book during the early to mid 80's.It is really starting to bug me that I can't remember the author or title.
