Read something that may be an article of interest to some folks. Person of Interest is a CBS show currently about to embark on its second season (series, I believe, to UK folks) Thu@9 and Batman is a character in an obscure movie based on some comic strip, or comic book, or something. :) I haven't seen any of the other Nolan's Batman movies and didn't draw the connection and don't know how well it stands up but it certainly seems reasonable, though not necessary. I don't like the show's apparent agenda of "let's build a supercomputer to spy on people and have vigilantes bust them some punks because we think that's a good thing" and have only watched it intermittently but it's been pretty good, nevertheless, and I may start watching this more regularly. I caught the re-run of the season finale and not only did they guest-cast Amy Acker but returned Paige Turco, who I was hoping they'd make a recurring character after her initial appearance and they advanced the cool Fusco/Carter characters. I enjoyed the heck out of that episode.

Anybody else watching the watchers?

Yes. It's interesting and I always get a vicarious pleasure in seeing Reese going all primitive on the bad guys. Still waiting to find out how Finch got his limp and seemingly permanent torticollis.

Oh yes. I watched this series lately and absolutely loved it. Actually I love it so much so that I'm really looking forward to getting it back this week. And I don't know why JJ Abrams name make me tingle, but he really made this series as good as it can be, even if some of the concepts are a bit cheesy. But as those are minor details I won't mentioned, but actually recommend this to anyone who liked twenty four.

It's shown on my local cable and I watched only few moments here and there while browsing the channels but it looks like a show of interest. Is every episode a complete story or to be continued? This is important for me since I have serious short attention span for anything that drags.

Each story is own story but there's a complete arch that culminates at the end of the season. So skipping an episode or two wont do a harm as they recap the important bits at the beginning of the each episode.

Well I'll be damned. I've been watching this one since the pilot, and it never twigged that the Nolan who created it was one of those Nolans!

Although it's quite formulaic at times, and I find Reese a bit wooden, I'm another one who really enjoys this - it helps that Finch happens to be a software developer (representing the family, yo! And so on and so forth :p)!

To be honest, I only started watching because I was getting to the end of Lost (I was late to the party on that one) and saw that Michael Emerson was in it; I didn't realise there were SF elements until I watched the pilot.

I'm going to have to watch the finale again to get all of the details, but I'm looking forward to seeing what is done with the situation from the last series (I'm hoping that it isn't resolved in the first episode), and I'd like to see more of Acker's character, Root.

The new series begins tomorrow, so you're going to see more Root and other interesting things that were shadowed in the first one.

I've been watching this show. (Season one is being shown in Channel Five here in the UK. Last night's episode was number seven, "Witness".)

Though I suppose that few of the episodes would survive close scrutiny (such as the circumstances surrounding Reese's first meeting with the school teacher/witness, and how a certain rendezvous is arranged**), the show is very good at carrying the viewer along. The Finch end of the set-up is borderline believable (though it's only really mentioned in the opening credits), but the way Reese's character was introduced convincing explains his somewhat cavalier behaviour with regard to his own safety.

All in all, I find it entertaining. (It helps that Finch and Reece have been well cast.)

** - Although I admit that I may have missed something.

Thanks, I'm on. :)

I love this show and I'm a huge James Caviezel fan!

Can't wait for the season premiere tomorrow! Hopefully I'll actually get to watch most of this season...last season I was working until 9 so I'd miss most of the episode. I was upset when CBS pulled the full episodes off the website, that was how I got caught up!

I mean, huge JIM Caviezel fan!

Cool to see so many people watching or willing to watch. Maybe we can discuss the episiodes as they come out (with lots of spoiler warnings, of course). I don't know how it airs in the UK though, from comments, I gather it's a little behind and on at a different time but, in the US, if you mean to watch, don't forget that it comes on tonight, in a few hours. :)

Yep - it's hard to support vigilantism as a social theory but it's hard not to approve on a personal level. :)

Yep, I'll agree with that. I think Reese is going for Eastwood-stoic rather than wooden, but it can come across either way at times and, yeah, aside from the "high concept" it is basically the usual CBS procedural, but at a higher level than usual, I think.

I never got into Lost but I agree that Emerson/Finch is particularly good. And Reese works, generally, though I'd prefer a firmer voice from Reese as he's usually almost whispering. I don't know if that's supposed to be an attribute of Reese or if it's something Caviezel usually does. And I also want to see more of Acker and Turco. Not just with those two, but in general, they've been strong with guest casting which is always very important but often underrated and inadequately done in a lot of shows.

Yeah, it hasn't hurt them so I don't guess they care, but CBS seems to be about the worst US net when it comes to dealing with the web. NBC and ABC do much better with making the shows available.

So excited! :)

I agree, it would be great to talk about it after the episodes, spoilers being a given :)

If the episodes are dicussed in their own threads (e.g. '2.01 - The Contingency') those of us a season behind can safely avoid those, while checking up on earlier episodes.

Agreed! I recorded S1 #16 - 'Risk' last night on HD box and will watch it over the weekend. Hope it's a good start for me.

As there is no subforum for the show (at least at the present), the title should include the show's name, i.e.:
Person of Interest: 2.01 - The Contingency

Watched it last night, may be the Wall Street theme isn't the best place to start, I found it modestly interesting. Puzzled by what happened in the end I guiltily searched the pilot and a couple of earlier episodes guide and roughly got the idea. The most intriguing thing is the Finch charactor, the actor's role in Lost is utterly memorable.

If there is real interest in this I will give you a new forum for it (Not tonight.) I only see three threads but on reading this thread it looks like many of you are still seeing the first season for the first time so the interest will grow.

Incidentally, where can it be seen in the UK? Which channels?
