On BBC 2 right now, one of the contestant's specialist subjects is the life and work of Lovecraft. That's it really. Good to see him getting that kind of respect. Mastermind is a bit of a cultural institution after all.
 
There was a girl on Mastermind with Lovecraft as her specialist subject. Interestingly John Humphrys asked her about her topic and she gave a brief essay on his purpose as the horror writer for atheists and a major precursor to modern SF. Humphrys pulled a brilliant face of intense interests, while his eyes said he couldn't give a ****.

It made me chuckle.
