help remembering a book?

So...first post here and it's basically asking for help. As a member of other types of forums I find that...annoying. So I apologize in advance, but trying to remember this book has been driving me nuts for weeks.

Back in 2005 I moved to a new city and found a roommate through a mutual friend, someone whom I did not know. Anyways he was in to reading fantasy novels and through him I read the Sword of Truth series and a few others. I didn't like the guy so I have no way of contacting him lol so now I'm lost.

This is all that I remember: the fantasy novel is set sort of like Sword of Truth or Song of Ice and Fire as far as the world setting, and there is a war going on between men, and there are gods that are interfering in the outcome that seemed to be operating without men knowing about it.

Also, I think I remember a goddess of love and her brother traveling with some men but they were in the form of children....so that's it. Completely vague and unhelpful. If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate it, but I won't be surprised if it's too little information. Silver lining is I found what seems like a great forum to find new scifi and fantasy novels.

Um, I'm usually rubbish at these, so I'm probably wrong, but Eddings has a goddess in child form in the Belgariad, and at one point her people are killed and she gets sick and has to get help from the other gods. I think one of them, another child-like one, did help for a while. I think it might have been in The Shining Ones. ?

There are two series in the story you're talking about: The Elenium and the Tamuli series. The first series begins with a book called The Diamond Throne. Hope that helps.

You're looking for *Medalon* by Jennifer Fallon.

Dacendaran is the god of thieves, appearing as a cocky adolescent and Kalianah is the goddess of love, in the form of an adorable little girl.

Followed by *Treason Keep* and *Harshini*.
