Looking for a fantasy children's book series

Hello

I'm looking for a good book for my baby brother to read and I recall this fantasy series I really adored as a child. It was published in the late 90s, early 2000s at roughly around the same time as the first HP books. It was about this evil queen who had to be overthrown and a prince destined to do so but he was killed in the second book so eventually it was up to a freeriding warrior and his merry gang to finish the job. It was a fable with the queen being a cat and the prince a mouse (so was the warrior if I'm not mistaken) and it was a trilogy. I quite vividly recall the cover of book 3 which depicted a large drawing of the queen and a smaller drawing of the warrior in front of a closed gate, standing on top of a drawbridge. (though I might be mistaken about the last part) Also I think the cover of book two depicted a caravan of animals and a castle in the background.

Hope this helps. I'd really love to find these books and I think my baby brother would love them just as much as I did.

Sorry, I googled it to the best of my ability but couldn't find anything. Does ring a bell though.

On an interesting note, if you google the words 'Fantasy queen cat prince mouse' this thread is the first result on google.

It doesn't quite match your description but this sounds a bit like Mossflower by Brian Jaques. It's from the excellent Redwall series. Well I say excellent. The first few are proper classics, but they got a bit silly towards the end in my opinion.

Even if this isn't what you're looking for I'd definitely reccomend them.

THAT'S IT!!! In Dutch Mossflower is divided into three books! That's the trilogy I was talking about! As soon as I saw the Dutch edition covers I immediately recognised it. I never knew it was part of a larger series! I'll try the rest as well. Maybe my baby brother would like those too. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You've made my day!

And thank you on my behalf too. I had been waiting for someone to find out what the book was as my efforts with Google had failed as well and the book sounded quite fun. I've only read the first Redwall book and this is a fine reason to keep going.
