How has your view of him changed over the years? Were you one of the naysayers when he was first announced as Conan, and what do you think about him now?

i've been a fan of his since he came aboard Stargate Atlantis. he isn't that bad of an actor and is a super cool guy(met him at Oz Comic Con in melbourne this year, can't say enough good things about him as he was more than happy to chat when he was free at his signing table for 10 minutes or so).
i enjoyed the new Conan movie and thought he was the best thing in that movie, his Conan was different from Arnolds and i thought he was better in the role, while stand by the original Conan as the better movie.
plus he was great as Drogo in season 1 of game of thrones and made his performance stand out among really great performances all round.

Good character actor but not a lot of depth. May be just the roles he's gotten but I can't see him in a wide range of pictures. OTOH he's got no general handicaps like Vin Diesel's voice and he is the best thing I saw in GoT besides the little person.

I'm going to leave Conan out of the picture, as I heard the vehicle would make you dislike Howard, let alone the star.

Another thing. His tenure at Stargate and the juxtaposition between him and the cowardly physicist shows he had the timing to do deadpan comedy. This, some think, is actually genetic and may be an indication that the acting gene, if there is such a thing, may be present. We will see more of him in the future, I think
