Wondering if anyone might remember a very old time travel series, a possible professor at a university on east coast USA has a time travel machine materialize infront of him. He shoots forward just as our civilization dies, then past 2 more and arrives for the rise of a 4th civilization based in great lakes and eastern USA.
Apparently its possibly the last attempt as each one before wiped out resources and theres not much left.
the possibly 4 books show how time travel falls into the hands of both factions and time wars then occur.
Would have to be mid 60s and no later then late 70s.
