After being (by my standards) quite productive on my current WiP I reached the point I had planned out to.

It is in some ways a natural point but it is by no means the end of the story. There are still a few things that need to happen in order to put everyone in the right places to reach the dramatic climax!

Now I know the little character bits - eg. one not so nice character has to start questioning the motivations of others to take her to the point she does something rash. But this and the other s are more incidental bits.

The main character - focus and thrust of the story seems to be stationary.

The only option is to introduce a secondary storyline for him - which is easy enough but might seem a bit grating, almost as though a second story has bee stuck on the first. It might work, or might not.

The other option is to split the book into 2 parts but is that acceptable?

Personally, I'd move heaven and hell to avoid splitting the book into two parts, but that's just me. I hate, I can't tell you how much (politely) those writers who publish a book in two or more parts. It's such a let down for me as a reader.

Thanks Prizzley.

I'm not sure I explained it well (I certainly mucked the title up), but I did not mean making one bool two - that'd be like breaking the Hobbit up and making three movies out of it - I meant more like The individual Lord of the Rings books, each of which are divided into two parts...
