Some of you may be aware of the Friday night write club that happens on Twitter between 8pm and 12 EST. Unless you're a vampire, that knackers all UK/European writers.

SO, there's now a push to get a UK club going (starting 8pm GMT). Follow @FriNightWrites and the hashtag is writeclub (it's likely a UK hashtag may also evolve).

People write together in sprints and then post counts. It's like a weekly mini-Nano. I'm redrafting my MS right now, but plan to write freely during write club on another project. (Don't know about anyone else, but when I'm editing I can go for weeks on end without writing anything fresh...)

Write club should be a good way of boosting those words, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of friendly competition with fellow writers. Spread the word, and hopefully see some of you there!

As a new (although as yet undecided) convert to Twitter, I quite like the idea. It might give me something to tweet (am I the only one who feels foolish just using that term?).

I've made a few responses, but I don't have anything much to say. I mean, who wants to know that I've had toast for breakfast, or I've been working on my WiP? However, if there was a group session, maybe I wouldn't feel so daft, putting something up.

Yes, come and join in! It will let you connect with other writers in the Twitter community. I'm also fairly new to the whole thing, and even if you don't tweet very much, it can be a handy source of information.

It sounds a great idea. But Friday night is my respite from writing night, and more to the point, I can't do Facebook, Twitter et al, because my internet connection is ****, weak at the best of times and frequently non-existent - out for 4-5 hours yesterday! God knows what I'm going to do when my agent/publisher (dream on) asks about my online presence.

BUMP!

Anyone pondering what to do tonight? Cruise on to Twitter and join other writers during Fri Night write club. It's like fight club, but people use their minds instead of fists and there's hopefully a little less blood.

And hey, if you don't have Twitter, why not write anyway and just pretend to play along? ;)

I've got my game face on.
