I read this book years ago and would love to read it again if I could remember the title! I can remember one character landed in Chicago and he described the pollution as the air being unbreathable. The main character was a "journalist" who mainly wrote propaganda for the leading politician. When he started writing the truth he was discredited. All his on line access was denied. He and his family were demonized on Tv. Couldn't access money food etc. Had to go on the run. Later found found highly intelligent children or monkeys living in the mountains. I think the cover had a picture of earth on it. I think the title may have had the word earth in it. Any help would be appreciated. I have been looking for this book for the last 2 years
