I am a longtime fan of these incredibly obscure books. Wonderful subversive childrens fantasy, and difficult to obtain at any price.

Nice. It's good to see that the gateway drug to Gormenghast is on the streets again!

They are very entertaining books, full of complete lunacy, invention and cartoon violence. Beaver Hateman is one of the greatest villains ever (or perhaps anti-heroes). I remember a scene where he mocks Uncle in verse as extremely funny.

The guy who is doing this, Marcus Gipps, is a SF editor for Gollancz. Has Garth Nix, Neil Gaiman and Quentin Blake as collaborators on the project.
