Just a reminder to those in the vicinity of London that this evening I shall be convening with fellow authors Paul Cornell, James Lovegrove, Mercurio D Rivera, Martin Sketchley, Adrian Tchaikovsky, and cover artist Pye Parr, to mark the launch of Solaris Rising 2.

And, while I hate to presume, I'd hazard that maybe... just maybe... much conversation and imbibing of alcohol might follow.

(Apologies for the late notice on this -- could have sworn I posted about the event some time ago, but apparently not.)

Hi, ctg, no -- I was just at the helm for this one: commissioning the stories and editing them for publication. Mind you, at four pages, my intro is almost a story in itself...

Well if you can say it is, then I accept it as the truth. What's the average length in those stories?

The length varies considerably. The shortest story is 2,800 words, the longest 8,800.

The book is around 106,000 words long without my intro (which adds another 2,000). There are 19 stories, so I suppose the average length is a little under 5,600 words.
