Wasp Factory Opera

Been trawling through the ROH season stuff, trying to remember what is on and when tickets go on sale, and I found this! http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/the-wasp-factory-by-ben-frost The Wasp Factory as an opera...anyway, what do you think?

Not quite an opera as there is only the one singer. However, I think it would be... strange... and possibly a little disturbing!

Haha totally insane - the music should be incredible though...something I never thought I would hear - a sf novel as an "opera"!

While it isn't exactly a SF novel - quite unfortunately, as there are worse psychopaths walking the earth in reality, I find it's hard to imagine an opera manifest the complicated inner world and mental state of a teen psycho. How are they going to tone it?

As I say, I can only imagine it to be both very strange and somewhat disturbing. And yes I wouldn't say The wasp Factory is SF at all. Weird fiction possibly but not SF.
