A book that involves a group of gifted kids.

I have been trying to find this book for many years without luck.

It starts out in a world were kids are taken to special government schools. it then goes on to distinguish a group of kids. one is a psychic, one is a hacker, and the main character has the special ability to tell the exact distance from his finger tip/tips. The book goes on with them training through various exercises. then it ends with a 3 world war played out on a virtual hill where the main kid pushes his troops up the hill while the others perform their special skills by gathering intel and warding off the other countries attacks.

I know it is a long shot since the years of searching every detail i can remember has so far came up with nothing but i thank you all for the help.

"Ender's War" by Orson Scott Card??

I know it is not one of the ender series. the war at the end is a purely virtual war between the three countries on earth and it is the deciding factor for who will rule the earth. There are no other planets or alien races involved as far as i remember. I will try and give a more detailed description of the main characters.

Main Character: Male, mid teens and has the ability to tell the exact distance from his fingertip through some sort of mental power. i believe he has other abilities but this is the only one that stands out in my mind.

psychic: female i believe, possibly deformed/crippled in some way.

There is a third main character and i believe it is a male but younger then the first and has incredible hacking skills.

during the final battle you see the main character in a room with a huge hill in the middle. his troops are lined up at the base of the hill and he has to literally push them up with his finger, and it describes in the book how he pushed too close and speared on with his finger.

i hope this helps. i would really love to read this book again.
