In light of the announcement of the new Discworld board game - The Witches - I though it was time for a thread about the latest line of Discworld board games.
I've been playing Discworld: Ankh-Morpork for about a year and a half, it being one of the recurring favourites of my game collection. It is a chaotic hybrid of a board and a card game, but the rules are simple, and each game can develop in a hundred distinct directions, usually taking between one and two hours to finish.
Most suprisingly, this game has found a strong fanbase among many of my friends who are otherwise ignorant of Pratchett's work.
I haven't seen any talk of this game anywhere else on this forum, but just in case people have played it, here's some keywords for discussion:
- Do anyone else tend to remove the Commander Vimes personality card from play, as its winning criterion seems to be a little too easy?
- Any success trying to expand the game to five players? The limitation to four players is my major gripe with this game.
- Any house rules you would like to discuss?
