Just watched this last night, after being picked up from a charity shop by the other half.

Was a bit wary this might be one of Jack black's "misses", especially as the first 20 minutes are a little slow and nothing really seems to happen.

Then - bam! - Jack is hypnotised into seeing people for what they are inside, and the film finally shows what it's actually about.

There are probably grumbles from some quarters that people being seen to be "beautiful" by being slim and following standard conventions of beauty. However, I thought this was a very clever role reversal of media projections of beauty.

More to the point, I thought this was a brilliant anti-prejudice film, based again on judging people by how they stack against media projections of beauty and conformity to them.

The bit with the kids in the hospital still gets me.

A romantic comedy with a deep and moving message.

Or so I thought, anyway. :)
