Short story about a hitman who is proud of his driving skills

The whole story takes place over the "drive" from the airport to his boss's. He is being chased by another hitman, for botching a job. He attributes his escape to the fact that he chose to "drive" instead of use public transportation. even though the car he is "driving" is really in control the entire time. I want to send this story to my friends who think stick shift is better than automatic
