a little steampunk riddle

Some month ago, my sister was in a train station and, while waiting the train, she entered in a bookshop. It was here - so beautiful, with all those seampunk drawning on the book cover and a false newspaper about a Martian ambassador's murder during a visit on Earth ...
she doesn't remember anything else - so I can give no more clue ... It should be a new (recent?) book, I think; and about the plotting, I think it was a sort of detective story about that murder.
Can anybody help me?
and if she/he cans, is the book so nice as it seems?
