Batman vs Superman (2016)

One thing I did enjoy - each hero was accompanied by a musical cue specific to them, but Wonder Woman's was especially interesting.

I just don't like their take on the characters, I couldn't stand how Lex Luthor was portrayed.

From the reviews I have been reading here I don't want to see Batman versus Superman.

I'm not against Batman being a dark and brooding person it fits the atmosphere. I once read somewhere that Batman is suppose to be the type of character that makes bad guys wet their pants and I've always agreed with that. If my parents were murdered before my eyes I think I might be dark and brooding too. I also believe that this image was the original thought of the Batman creator Bob Kane.

Now on the other hand, I think Superman has less reasons to be dark and brooding. I especially dislike the part where he shows no remorse in innocents getting hurt and/or killed. This is not the Superman I grew up with and it doesn't fit the character. Ma and Pa Kent didn't raised their little boy, Clark to be an insensitive power-mad maniac. I don't expect my heroes to be perfect (that would be boring) however, there is such a thing as going too far.

Upon reading some of these reviews I get the impression that the writers and producers were borrowing (or stealing) an idea from another comic super-hero: Supreme. Now this insensitive power-mad maniac idea worked for Supreme because it was already established that he was this type of person.

There is another thing that theses re-creators of superheroes need to keep in mind and that is variety. Not every character needs to be black or white. It is boring if every character is a goody-two-shoes or a brooding nut case.

Another thought before I go. These movie producers should keep another thought in mind and that is the kids watching their movies. For good or bad kids absorbed some of their moral standards from the media. I am not advocating sugar-coating everything they feed their audience but advocate a balance diet.

Watched this at the weekend. It posed a couple of interesting questions about power (which, in hindsight, was an attempt to make it appear more grown-up than it actually is) but then just descended into a load of punching.

Hmm. I guess I'm the idiot for expecting it to be anything different from this.

I'm not going to watch this one, either. The whole premise seems stooopid to me. When I consider the last film ( I think it was the last Superman film, I may have missed one) where Supie was throwing the bad guy (Zod?) through buildings and out the other side (had to break his neck to finally kill him...) I'm thinking 'wait a minute, you're telling me batman would survive being thrown through a building?' 'Zat possible, without the kind of superpowers only those from Krypton have? The reviews here have been very helpful, too, so I'll give it a miss.

I watched this last night and really enjoyed it.
