Podrick Payne (BIG SPOILERS)

Anyone else like Podrick Payne?

Don't know why but in the books I really enjoyed reading his parts. I was more shocked by his hanging than I was about Brienne.

I hope GRRM doesn't kill him off but I've re-read the section a few times and I think it's game over for poor Pod.

I know how you feel. I always knew Brienne would come to a sticky end, so I was none too upset about what was happening to her. Even though she seems to have slipped the noose (literally) this time, her clock is running out. Pod on the other hand.. I was nearly devestated when he seemed to be coming to an end. and I wouold agree that there does not seem to be a chance that he is still alive.

though, perhaps, stoneheart cut him free and is holding him and Ser Hunt as ransome to make sure Brienne doesn't scarper, and follows through with bringing Jaime to "Justice".

Fingers crossed Arsten but like you say there seems to be little chance for him.

Me, me! I liked this boy and his loyalty to Tyrion and Brienne is so amazing. Fingerscrossed he'd been cut free. too hopeful, eh?

How many of the NW planned to forsake their vows on The Fist and how many turned on Craster, the Old Bear, and each other at Craster's Keep? How many vows has Jaime broken? Arys Oakheart? Gregor?

How many men have abandoned honor? Jorah sold freemen as slaves. Robert beat his wife and cheated on her. Euron murdered his brother. Sandor murdered a boy.

How many lords turned against Aerys II? How many men bent the knee to Robert? The Freys and the Boltons have both changed sides twice!

And then there is Puh-puh-puh-podrick Puh-puh-puh-payne. He is unsure of his abilities. He is an orphan. He is penniless. His master is a convicted murderer on the run. So what does Pod do? He keeps faith.

Pod's devotion is inspiring.

I dunno if he's dead. If I knew he was dead, I'd have written, Pod's devotion was inspiring. Personally, I think since Brienne's alive... then Pod is too. I feel the only reason she'd give in to Stoneheart was to save Podrick.
