GameCity, if you’ve not heard of it before, is an indie video game festival which takes place at the end of the month in Nottingham city centre.

And at the sixth GameCity this year, in honour of the 25th anniversary of Zelda, a world record attempt is being organised.

Gaming records are becoming bigger news these days, with an entire separate book dedicated to them by Guinness World Records.

The Guinness record GameCity will be attempting to crack will see six gamers playing every game in the Zelda series from start to finish. That’s fifteen adventures to finish in total, from The Legend of Zelda to Twilight Princess.

The record attempt will take place in Nottingham’s Old Market Square, which will have been transformed into a Hyrulean market village, with the festival itself running from Wednesday October 26th to Saturday the 29th.

This record breaking effort won’t be the only Zelda attraction on offer, with Ocarina lessons being given, and apparently workshops in building your own sword and shield. A LonLon milk bar will be open for refreshments, too. Sounds… milky.

Perhaps the biggest attraction, however, is that the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be available to play ahead of its release next month. Lots and lots of Zelda goodness is on offer, certainly.

Get more details here, where you’ll also find the link to sign up to potentially be one of the six expert Zelda gamers attempting to crack the record.

Uncharted 3 will also be previewed at the show.
