Kalypso has announced the release of the sequel to Dungeons on the PC.
Dungeons: The Dark Lord gives players a chance to show off their nefarious side once again, crafting a dungeon with elaborate traps and monsters guarding treasure designed to entice heroes in (yes, just like Dungeon Keeper).
What’s new for the sequel? The Dark Lord comes with a new campaign map – the ice crystal cave, complete with the yeti boss – and a fresh single player story. There’ll also be additional “prestige gimmicks”, whatever they are, and most importantly a new mutiplayer mode.
That should extend longevity considerably, as it lets players go head-to-head in various competitive modes to see who has the darkest, dankest labyrinth of all. Not to mention the most horrible dungeon.
The multiplayer will allow up to four players to compete in four modes, which include deathmatch (straight killing each other), king of the hill (holding a certain objective point), survival (longest lasting player we guess) and Piñata (shrugs).
Kalypso has also granted the ability for players to assume control of some of the game’s favourite bosses such as Minos and the Zombie King.
Finally, a new set of skills has been introduced specifically for the multiplayer modes. If you want a sneak preview of all this, a demo has just been released which you can grab here.
Dungeons: The Dark Lord is on sale for the PC now priced £29.99.
