Rockstar has announced that the Game of the Year Edition of Red Dead Redemption, its critically acclaimed western shooter-adventure – which achieved some 160 game of the year honours – will be released next month.
It’ll be out on October 14th for the Xbox and PS3, and the GOTY version will be the definitive one, of course, saddled up with a load of additional content.
That includes all the free and paid downloadable content packs which have been made available for Red Dead Redemption since its release last spring, such as the Undead Nightmare single and multiplayer experience which proved a big hit.
That DLC also includes the Legends and Killers pack, which introduces the tomahawk, and the Liars and Cheats pack that featured the Stronghold multiplayer mode. There’s also the Outlaws To The End mission pack, which consists of six co-op missions up to four players can partake of.
On top of this, all the original pre-order content will be bundled, namely the deadly assassin outfit, war horse and golden guns weapon pack.
Xbox players will also receive the Solomon’s Folly single player gang hideout and challenges, which weren’t previously available on the Microsoft console.
So, is there anything new here? Not in the way of DLC, which has all been seen before, but Rockstar has graced the package with a hardcore single player mode to challenge the grizzliest of wild west veterans.
Pricing hasn’t yet been announced, but if you’ve yet to experience the joys of Red Dead, we’d recommend you pick this one up, pardner.
