Ageing action hero who refuses to die-any-way-but-hard Bruce Willis is apparently in talks to appear in the GI Joe sequel.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was screened in 2009, based on the famous toys, and the comics and cartoons the franchise has spawned. However, it wasn’t well received by critics – panned for the acting and straying from the GI Joe mythos – although the picture still picked up over $300 million at the box office globally.

The sequel is set to be released next year and, let’s face it, is likely to be more of the same. Except with Bruce Willis. Maybe.

Apparently Willis has been chin-wagging with Paramount about the role of General Joe Colton, the original GI Joe.

We’ve got to admit, he’d make a good GI Joe, and as a bonus Willis is capable of actually acting. He even cried in an episode of Friends (though his agent probably didn’t mention that to the Paramount big-wigs).

The sequel also has a new director in the form of John Chu, so with a change at the helm, there’ll likely be a change in focus for the flick.

Although don’t get too excited, as Chu’s previous credits include The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Which obviously made him perfect for the film.

Maybe we can expect a legion of leaping and prancing army blokes as GI Joe is turned into a musical. We’re sure Bruce would go for that.
