Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to the massively acclaimed Arkham Asylum, is coming this autumn.
And boy are many folks stoked about the return of this stealthy action-adventure with dollops of good old fashion “kapow” style combat. If you’re really hyped, then you’ll likely be keen to hear what the Collector’s Edition of the game has in store for true fans…
Warner Bros has just revealed that it will contain a collectible art book, an Arkham City album from WaterTower Music – including original songs by hit artists (hopefully there isn’t a silent ‘s’ there) – and a custom Batman statue by Kotobukiya (nope, we haven’t a clue either).
There’ll also be a bonus DC Universe animated movie – Batman Gothic Knight – and early access granted to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin. And that’s about your lot.
Arkham City is five times the size of the first game, as it opens up the entire city (as you’d guess from the title).
It promises a much smoother combat system and even slicker interface than the first, along with all the villains you’d expect, plus a playable Catwoman with her own storyline and role in the game.
Warner Bros says that the Collector’s package will be available from October 21st in limited quantities, apparently. The game is out on Xbox, PS3 and PC, and we, like many others, can’t wait.
