Heads up – the dinosaurs are coming back, and this time in much higher definition and crisper surround sound.
Yes, the original 1993 film, the follow-up The Lost World, and Jurassic Park III will all be packaged up in a Blu-ray boxed set for purchase come the end of October.
That means a remastered high definition picture and 7.1 surround to really wobble that glass of water on your coffee table when the dinos come stomping in.
Naturally, there’s a massive helping of extras some of which are exclusive to the Blu-ray edition.
These include a ton of documentaries, explorations of the visual effects, production and art archives, and stacks of other stuff including the usual deleted scenes and trailers.
The exclusive to Blu-ray material encompasses a new six part documentary, the ability to bookmark favourite scenes from the films, a video timeline and a bunch of bonus “mobile-to-go” content which can be saved and explored on your handset.
We can’t say we were huge fans of the films, although to be fair, the first one had its moments and certainly impressed in terms of the effects. Hopefully the remastered version will give fans something more to “ooh” and “ahh” at.
Amazon currently has the boxed set priced up at the £37 mark, so this could be one for big fans of the franchise as a stocking filler come Christmas. Did we just mention the C word? Apologies, it still being summer – not that you’d notice…
