The fifth and final episode of Telltale’s Back to the Future: The Game has just been released.

Entitled “Outatime”, the concluding instalment pushes the player to the brink of disaster, and features the man himself Michael J. Fox in a special guest appearance, playing two characters in fact (less of it, you at the back shouting about how he couldn’t even play one…)

Marty must race to rectify his time travelling faux-pas and restore 1986 to how it was (lots of people with big hair and silly clothes still trying to solve Rubix cubes). A “stunning” conclusion is promised, no less, and the usual big batch of puzzles to scratch your noggin over.

Story consultant, the original movie’s screenwriter Bob Gale, commented: “The voyage of contributing to the creation of Back to the Future: The Game has been a fantastic one.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Telltale Games to continue a story I helped create 25 years ago in an entirely new medium, and to do so with iconic members of the original cast.”

Episode 5 is now available on the PC and Mac, and is soon to arrive on the iPad and PS3 formats as well.

TellTale Games has also made the first episode available for free on PC and Mac, and on the iTunes App Store but only for a limited time in the case of the latter. So iPad owners better act fast if they want to grab some freebie adventuring action.

“Outatime” is priced at $25, and PS3 owners can currently get the entire season of previous episodes in one bundled pack on PSN for the same price.
