Abbadon Books has announced the availability of The Ulysses Quicksilver Short Story Collection, by Jonathan Green, in e-book format.
All three stories in the collection, which includes “Fruiting Bodies”, “Vanishing Point” and “White Rabbit”, take place in the Pax Britannia shared universe, where Queen Victoria is in her sixteenth decade on the throne, kept alive by steam technology, the British Empire stretches all the way to the Moon, dinosaurs are on display at the London Zoo and the Empire is allied (sort of) with the United Socialist States of America.
The collection is a good introduction to this steampunk world, in which Ulysses Lucian Quicksilver, detective, adventurer and agent to the throne, defends the empire and manages to get into all sorts of interesting situations along the way.
Author Green wrote Unnatural History, the first book in the Pax Britannia universe, and has written a total of seven novels in the series.
All the books in the Pax Britannia universe are available in e-book format, but this new collection is the first time Abbadon Books has made an e-book available at 99 cents in the United States, and in the UK at 69p on Kindle and at 49p on iTunes.
