The sci-fi movie rumour mill is buzzing this morning – if a mill can indeed buzz, perhaps it’s clunking or grinding instead – with speculation that Darren Aronofsky’s (of Black Swan fame) next project will be “Human Nature”.

Vulture caught wind of this one, noting that the script for this is actually fifteen years old, and involves a man who is cryogenically frozen waking up in a world where human beings have become pets of another species.

Yes, shades of Planet of the Apes, but it sounds like it could be an interesting excursion – with George Clooney reportedly lined up to star.

The movie is currently being budgeted by Warner Bros, but Vulture seems to feel it’s a fair bet that it could be Aronofsky’s next flick.

Aronofsky recently turned his back on The Wolverine film, and Clooney is currently making another sci-fi movie, Gravity, which would obviously have to be finished before he moved on to tackle this.
